Is this life of foreign ministry calling to you?

"The lay faithful, precisely because they are members of the Church, have the vocation and mission of proclaiming the Gospel: they are prepared for this work by the sacraments of Christian initiation and by the gifts of the Holy Spirit." - Blessed John Paul II, Christifideles Laici, 33

As members of the mystical Body of Christ, we are all called to the common mission of the Church: to proclaim the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ and share the love of God with others. For most Christians, this means serving as a missionary - proclaiming the Gospel through words, actions and the witness of our life to those around us - in our daily lives at home, work, school or play.

Yet a few of us feel a deep longing to reach beyond the comfort zone of one's own upbringing and familiar surroundings to live and serve God in a foreign culture rich with a unique blend of challenges and blessings.
